Safety

If you are experimenting.

Briefly-you should avoid breathing the atmosphere where tetra ethyl silicate is burning.

The silicon part will probably be burning to form Silicon dioxide. Asbestos is also silicon dioxide. Asbestos is dangerous because of the size of particles so I believe that these smoke sized particles will not be dangerous.

Until this is properly researched, don’t breathe the atmosphere where your blow lamp is burning. This is why I burn in the garden shed and observe through the window from outside.
